It depends how much you build. As a rough guide, taking a project from idea to a real deployed app tends to land somewhere between $100 and $500 in tokens, and people building several things at once spend more. You watch the running cost as you build, so nothing is hidden. A sensible start is to fund around $100 and go from there.
Per-token API pricing. Maestra bills the model providers’ standard per-token rates with no markup, exactly as if you called the APIs yourself. It is not a subsidized allowance like a consumer chat subscription, so your cost tracks real usage instead of being capped or throttled.
The cloud that runs everything. You can read or self-host the agent. The flat monthly rate pays for the platform your software actually runs on: hosting, deployment, databases, sign-in, and the monitoring that keeps it online. That is the real, ongoing cost of running software. Tokens are separate and always at cost.
Yes. Connect your own model-provider accounts and they bill you directly. Maestra never touches the money. Handy if you already have credits, or a policy that says you must own the billing relationship.
No, and it is a common point of confusion. A consumer chat subscription pays for that chat app, not for API access, so there is no key to connect. You need an API account with a model provider, billed per token. If you would rather skip that, fund a balance with Maestra and we handle it.
Your deployed apps stay online and your code is yours to keep. Any balance you funded stays in your account. You just can’t keep building through Maestra until you resubscribe.
No. The balance is real money that belongs to you. It never expires and is never converted into points or credits with their own rules. You spend it on tokens at cost, and whatever is left stays yours.
Yes. Paying annually brings the subscription to $79 a month, billed once a year, and locks your rate for the full term.
